APCUPSD Installation

I'm trying to install the subject APC UPS monitoring and shutdown application on my pfSense server.  I've read related posts here and it sounds easy:

pkg_add -r apcupsd

However, my install complains about a perl version mismatch:
perl-5.10.1 already installed vs perl-5.8.9_2 to be installed

How to resolve?  Perhaps this is an easy question for a FreeBSD guru, but for a Red Hat person, ???

Any help would be appreciated.
