    Hi,

I'm planning to set up an active/passive pfSense redundant set of firewalls and was thinking about using RIP with different metrics for the different firewalls. However, I see that the current RIP configuration options are very limited and don't foresee the possibility of adjusting metrics.

In particular, I would like to be able to adjust the following parameters from routed in selected interfaces:

    • rdisc_pref (or no_rdisc), in order to avoid clients using the passive firewall as their gateway

    • adj_inmetric and/or adj_outmetric, so that I can assign different metrics to the active and passive firewalls

Is there any way to do this, even if it means modifying some code or script in the existing 1.2.3-RELEASE version? Any hints? My guess is that one could tweak the script used to generate /etc/gateways. Does anyone of you know where this is done?

    Thanks in advance!
