-
Hello there all community of PdSense, Great thanx on great work.
I am planing to replace my old FreeBSD router with new installation of PFsense.
Now I am in dilemma should I install version 2.0 from start even if it is still in Beta or I should go with 1.2.3 version.Main proposes of router are:
NAT for one internet link with Public IP address for abaut 200 clients inside of lan
VPN server, Until now I used PPP inside of FreeBSD and I have around 30 clients to call in.
Port forwarding for internal services.
Port blocking for outgoing requestsAnd new features that I want is:
Some how I want to force users to use OpenDNS, Now I need to block some specific sites on interentet for vistisin our clients inside LAN.Some of questions that on my mind is:
If I go with version 1.3., Will I be able in future to upgrade my system to 2.0 version when it will be ready, without to lose my configuration. If I go with version 2, Can I implement now this requests.
Best regards

2.0 might be generally safe to use in that situation, but the only way to know would be to test it out for yourself.
1.2.3 would be the right thing to do for most production networks right now though.
You can upgrade from 1.2.3 to 2.0 when it's released, there shouldn't be any upgrade issues when it's released.
