      Hi,

      x86
built on Mon Sep 6 22:04:59 EDT 2010
      FreeBSD 8.1-RELEASE

      Check box that says:

      Synchronize Virtual IPs
When this option is enabled, this system will automatically sync the CARP Virtual IPs to the other CARP host when changes are made.

      in CARP options page.

Seems to sync CARP IPs AND IP ALIASes.  I can't think of a situation where is would be desirable…..
Is this by design or a bug?

      Thanks.

Hello, I'm configuring 2 pfsense 2.0 boxes with the latest snapshot (14/Oct/2010).

I've setup pfsync and carp between the two and it is working fine. Now I just created an Alias VIP on the master, and it also appeared on the slave, is the fix already in this snapshot? Should I open a new ticket or just update that one(it is marked as resolved)?

Well, doing some more tests here and tweaking /etc/rc.filter_synchronize I was able to stop pfsync from syncing the alias VIP to the slave box.

Now the problem is that I also want to have an alias VIP only on the slave, but when I create a new CARP VIP on the master it deletes the extra aliases created on the slave.

What I'm trying to do is to have 2 CARP VIPs on the same interface, but each using a different subnet, that's why I need aliases on that interface, one for each subnet.

Am I on the right track?

            Thanks.
            Best regards,
            Thiago

You might want to run gitsync on both systems and try the current code checked into the repo. If that still removes the aliases on the slave, update the ticket with that information.
