      Hi,

i have a new board with a Realtek RTL8103E networking chip.
      pfsense says something like this:

      kernel: re0: <realtek 10="" 8101e="" 8102e="" 8102el="" pcie="" 100basetx="">port 0xec00-0xecff mem 0xfebff000-0xfebfffff,0xfdff0000-0xfdffffff irq 18 at device 0.0 on pci3
kernel: re0: Using 1 MSI messages
      kernel: re0: Chip rev. 0x34800000
      kernel: re0: MAC rev. 0x00400000
      kernel: re0: Unknown H/W revision: 0x34c00000
      kernel: device_attach: re0 attach returned 6

      FreeBSD 8.1 supports this chip.

Is there a driver around for this hardware? How can I get it working?

      Sincerely,

      Friedemann</realtek>

There's a good chance that support for this device will be in 2.0.  Try running one of the latest beta snaps and make sure this is the case.

            Hi,

the latest snapshot works now. I just had to ignore the cd errors.

            Realtek card is recognized correctly.

            Thanks for the help!

            Best,
            Friedemann

i was just waiting and doing nothing. The install continued then.

                No idea why.

                Best,

                Friedemann
