Serial console on HD install?

Hi,

I am currently using the embedded image on a hard drive, because I need the serial console (no video card, had to remove it for another network card). If I do a hard drive install, is it possible to change the console over to the serial port?

system>advanced:

Enable Serial Console
(X) This will enable the first serial port with 9600/8/N/1
Note: This will disable the internal video card/keyboard
