      Hi All-

Should squid work with 2.0 beta 4?  I have it installed, but it won't start.

I have it set up as in http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Setup_Squid_as_a_Transparent_Proxy, but without the transparent part.

when I run a netstat on the box, port 3128 doesn't show up as listening, and I don't see any processes that look like squid.  looking at the squid log, I finally see:

      2010/10/04 19:13:57|  Validated 0 Entries
      2010/10/04 19:13:57|  store_swap_size = 0k
      FATAL: Received Segment Violation…dying.
      2010/10/04 19:13:57| storeDirWriteCleanLogs: Starting…
      2010/10/04 19:13:57|  Finished.  Wrote 0 entries.
      2010/10/04 19:13:57|  Took 0.0 seconds (  0.0 entries/sec).
      CPU Usage: 0.070 seconds = 0.035 user + 0.035 sys
      Maximum Resident Size: 6252 KB

      Any ideas?

It should work fine on 2.0 beta4 on i386. On amd64 there are issues.

There are some changes coming to the package system that may fix this, hopefully. (Along with other issues)
