My new pfSense box :)
-
I've been using pfSense 1.2 on an old Dell NX1 machine for the past year and a half or so, but I need some new gear since I've got a second WAN link and now they're both over 100Mbps.
So, I've just finished building my new box:
AMD Sempron LE-1200
Biostar NF61S Micro AM2 SE
Kingston 2x1GB DDR2 667
WD 40GB S-ATA
2 x HP NC7170, dual Gbit PCI-X NICs, running just fine on normal PCI
OnBoard nVidia FE NICI'll do a bit of load balancing between the two WAN links, one LAN, one WiFI [via an external 802.11n AP]. I'll still have the spare onboard nVidia NIC in case I get any other ideas.
I've done a few tests, and no matter what I throw at it, it can take it. It's a quiet, fairly low power, strong performing box, built with very little money :D
Right now I think I'll stick with pfSense 1.2.3 since it's stable and everything works as it should [or at least the features I need].
Only one question: can anyone tell me if they're managed to get the LCDproc service to work with an HD47780 LPT display? I can't get'em to work and I've got two of them, well tested on Windows - they're perfect for what I need, but I just can't get that deamon to start…
And a few pics of my new toy :)

Nice! Thanks for sharing… :)

New box is online :)
Unfortunately, there's a problem with the second WAN link [ISP issue], so I'll do the load balancing later.
