I had plans on updating the denyhost package on behalf of mcrane but I bumped into something that supports pf a littler bit better. sshguard looks like a good program. I haven't tested it or even started on anything but I was wondering if there are any users interested in something like this.

Yes seeming as on their site it says it supports/helps protect more than just ssh, and denyhost only does ssh.
I will be glad to test it for you.

So it's like SNORT, in a sense.  sshguard seems to perform active blocking.
