Need help with routing a /24
-
Hello. i have a pfsense router which has 2 interfaces. 1 WAN , 1 LAN. my WAN interface is part of a /27 subnet which i have several 1:1 NATs and firewall rules. I just recently got a /24 subnet from my datacentre provider and they asked me if i wanted to route the subnet thru an IP in my existing subnet or if i wanted them to provide me with a default gateway. i wanted to control routing of this subnet so i told them to route it thru my existing WAN interface's primary IP (lets call it 1.2.3.67/27) . then i added a 3rd nic as OPT1 and assigned it an ip of 2.2.2.1/24 (the new subnet). i was hoping that this would be all i needed to do and that 2.2.2.1 should be now accessible on the internet but it's not. how i get 2.2.2.1/24 on OPT1 to route traffic thru my WAN IP 1.2.3.67/27 ? My data centre provider said they already put a route in place for the /24 to route to 1.2.3.67/27 . Can this be done on one box or do i need a second pfsense router? i would like to keep one router if possible. HELP PLS!
Thanks! Ryan

Hi Ryan,
Don't know if you solved it already, but adding a third nic and let it have the /24 network should be enough for it to work - at least on other firewalls. Haven't tried it in pfsense.
