Would squid cause my internet to slow down?  It seems like things have gotten slower since I installed the squid package.  Just trying to determine if it's related or not.

Those didn't really help.  It turns out that the problem was my browser.  It never completely shut down and therefore was taking up a ton of memory and being unresponsive.
