Search for Commercial Support :(

  • Hello everyone,

I want to use PFsense in my workplace, but I am getting some pushback from middle management in IT that there is no support for the product. We are currently using 4 Sonicwall Pro 200 that 2 of which need a reboot every 3-4 days.

I have used pfsense for some time at my home and I am really familiar with it.

    TIA

    John

  • Nice!

It looks like my options are opening up.. I also came across www.topell.com. I am awaiting a quote, and tried calling, but the office was closed..

    Anyone deal with these guys?

    TIA

    John

  • We ordered 2 to replace our sonic walls.  Wouldn't recommend them yet, but so far it's a nifty box!

    Thanks,

    John…

Don't know if he got the unit yet.

I'm expecting the unit in the next couple weeks - I'm not a paying customer, I don't expect to have it drop shipped ;)  The unit specs look nice, the guys at Topell got back to me really quick, I can only imagine their support for paying customers is as good or better.

I'll try to post a summary on some of the various vendor-ware I've had the opportunity to touch (maybe Scott and I can get together on this as he's got some other "interesting" hardware) after Christmas.  I'm not willing to recommend or push vendors as we've had enough donate equipment or cash to us that I'd be concerned with pissing one off ;)  However, I'll be more than willing to post summaries and experiences and let people draw their own conclusions.

That would be awesome! Looking forward to it!
