Sierra Wireless USB 306 3G

(I posted this in the hardware forum, but thought it might go here since I found similar threads here)

I have a Sierra Wireless USB 306 3G stick that I'm trying to get to work with pfSense. I'm fairly new to pfSense and FreeBSD. Sierra Wireless doesn't provide drivers for FreeBSD (and their support department says they don't have plans to either). Am I just out of luck, or is there something that I can do to get this to work?

I tried to setup this 3G stick under > Interfaces > Assign > PPPs >
■, Link Type = PPP
however, nothing is listed under Link Interfaces when selecting that option.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I searched these forums and couldn't find anyone using the same 3G USB stick, and I know this device isn't on the HCL, but thought someone might have an idea.
