    Hi there,

actually i'm trying to set up a hotspot-service for a hotel and i brought everything to work for me, exept logging. Because of local law the service has to log every site-access and store it, but because of using the nanobsd-distribution on cf, i cannot guarantee for the logfiles to be complete (powerloss, etc.).

My question is, is there a way to force the squid-package on nanobsd to send log-messages to an external syslog-server as the captive-portal does itself ? I searched the web and this board, but unfortunately eighter i'm not clever enough to find it or nobody placed the question before.

Can anybody give me a hint how to manage this ?

    Martin

Check the doc wiki (link in my sig) for the phpservice package, the example talks about the snort log but you should be able to use the same method to direct the squid log to syslog as well.
