      Hi,

      I'm with an Alix2d2 with beta 2.0.
      Everithing is working perfectly.

But squidGuard dosn't accept any blacklists because they are too huge for /var…
I saw a feature for squidGuard very interesting & I would like to try it...

It's dnsbl_redir (A Squid DNSBL Redirector program ). The objective is to tell squidGuarg to have a look to a dns blacklist (I've my own DNS on my network), it sound good for me.

Unfortunately this feature requires squidGuard 1.5 or later, but it's 1.4-2 on nano beta 2.0…

Is there a way to install or upgrade to squidGuard 1.5 ?

As squidGuard is still in developpement, i'm not sure it's possible to get it in nanobsb…

But I found a patch to apply to squidGuard 1.4 to make dnsbl_redir working.

Is it possible to install "make" ?

        # /etc/rc.conf_mount_rw
        # pkg_add -r make
Unable to get ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-8.1-release/Latest/make.tbz: File unavailable

            Hi,
            Thanks for the answer.

I can see a lot of "gcc packet" in the repository…

            gcc34.tbz gcc42.tbz gcc43.tbz gcc44.tbz gcc45.tbz gcc46.tbz gccmakedep.tbz gccxml.tbz

Which one should I install (I hope I'll have enough space left...) ?

Do not try to compile on the firewall. Compile a package on another FreeBSD machine (or VM) and then copy the resulting .tbz files to the pfSense box and add them.

                Hi,
                Thanks a lot. It's the best way…
I'm not familiar with bsd (I'm a debian user)  ;D
                But I'll try.

Thanks again for all the time spended.  :D

                  Hello,

                  Another question…

                  What is the ISO I should download ? A Freebsd 8.1 or a Pfsense 2.0 ?
I think it should be a freebsd (because pfsense doesn't contain make tools) ? But which one ? Livefs, CD or DVD ?
Should I take the same architecture (i386) as my installed pfsense ?

                    Me again…

                    What I've done :

                    Installed squid & squidGuard
                    downloaded the patch
                    make
                    make install

                    pkg_create -Rxb squidGuard

                    I obtain 4 packages : squid squidGuard Perl & db3

Should I now install all the packages in my pfsense or just squidGuard ?

                    Thanks.

                        Hi,

Thanks for your interest. You're probably right.
I saw the link you posted in "packages" forum.

It's not finished… I'm having problems with simple beta 2.0 packages install (In a VM for testing) ;D
So I can't still test my compiled 1.4 squidGuard...

Warning: fwrite(): 64 is not a valid stream resource in /etc/inc/pkg-utils.inc on line 844 Warning: fwrite(): 64 is not a valid stream resource in /etc/inc/pkg-utils.inc on line 919 Warning: fwrite(): 64 is not a valid stream resource in /etc/inc/pkg-utils.inc on line 922

                        I tried with 29th & today's beta build… It's my 5th install...
I don't know if it's because of the VM or not. But I will try again untill I succeed!

                        I'll give feedback here.
