DynDNS provider recommendation (WTFDNS)
-
I noticed a lot of new DynDNS providers have been added to 2.0. WTFDNS is a free DNS provider that has yet another DynDNS method.
It should be fairly simple to implement. Here are the instructions.
I was able to get it working easily enough with 1.2.3 by installing wget and using the cron package to run the command every 5 minutes.
Being a free provider, it's easy for anyone to sign up and test things out.

2.0 is in a features lock. http://redmine.pfsense.org/projects/pfsense/roadmap
You could make a package (or a How-To) that adds this to the list of available DDNS providers.
wallabybob did a how to for OpenDNS a while back. -

I haven't really had a chance to try out 2.0 much yet, but maybe when I do I'll look at how to integrate it and write something up.

Several people wanted OpenDNS (me included), they didnt add it until 2.0, so I dont see this service being added until the next release.
if you want to add it to the wiki send an email to wikiadmin@pfsense.org with your request or you can create a thread on the forum.

Try the custom DynDNS patches here:

If they get enough testing/approval they might make it in.
