How to disable WAN ping
-
I am trying to figure it out how to disable WAN ping …. Let's say I don't want to anybody be able to ping my WAN IP.
Thank You for advice

This should be default. You have to create a rule to allow ICMP echo for it to respond to ping on WAN.

If your public IP is pingable and you have done nothing on your firewall to enable it, I would guess that your ISP probably has provided you with a gateway device and either port forwards to you as you request or put you in some form of DMZ with the gateway device responding to the pings…
What is your network topology? Connection type? I.E. Cable, DSL, Fiber, Wireless, ect...

Thank you for your reply. take my appologies for a confusion. I believe it is blocked. What I did was pinging WAN from inside of a LAN by my mistake. If I ping it from other remote LAN it was not pinging so it is like it should be.
I have Comcast cable.

Keep in mind at least around here Comcast provides a "gateway" device to its Commercial customers. This is a router device and will usually respond to pings…
If your a residential customer then would depend on the modem you use...
Good Luck!
