I am new to BSD and pfSense. Very excited to start learned. Got a supermicro motherboard and want to see if anyone has installed pfSense or has any issues with the Atom mobo's before I get started. I know it's probably more processing power than needed but its what I have atm.

      Thanks!

I'm using the same board in my pfSense box with 4GB & an SSD.

        Works like a charm ….

I can't seem to see anything after the BIOS boots and after it looks to boot off CD. I have tried other OSs and it works fine. I can see the bootup and install screen on Knoppix CDs and untangle.

Not sure what the problem is or how to fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

              I have the X7SPA, http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/ATOM/ICH9/X7SPA.cfm?typ=H&IPMI=Y

No connected to board via SATA

It is time to replace my 1998 HP Kayak with something brand new.  I am looking for a dual-NIC Atom-based solution and something that is all solid-state.  The last time I checked this forum, I found one computer at NEwegg that was pretty close.  But it only had a  300G hard drive.

Anybody have anything with a SSD?  URL to and the whole deal?

                      thanks.

Here's my build. Totally silent, decently quick for an 8-line mlppp. I'm intending to run squid on it but it hasn't happened yet for various reasons:

Just picked up the following 1u server on sale.  I am pretty sure it is going to be great compared to my Celeron 800 (o/c to 1ghz).  Any experience with this particular server.  Seems like a great deal.!
