      Hi Everyone,

I am a total newbie to Pfense, but have inherited a Pfense firewall that one of my clients currently uses.

They are going to be changing ISPs and therefore will be obtaining a new "Public" IP address.

I can see the current public IP address in the configuration and I can see it configured in the WAN status.

My question is: How do I and where do I go to change the Public IP address for my WAN connection? I can't find where it is defined.

      Cheers!

        Interfaces –> WAN

If it's configured as static you can configure the IP there.

We do what we must, because we can.

          Thanks for responding so quickly.

I just checked and there is no Static IP defined in that field as it stands now. I would presume that the current IP would be there if it were in fact Static?

          Thanks again.

            Yes.

What is the drop-down set to?
            To DHCP?

If memory serves me correct, PPPoE is DSL.

and yes, it is a DSL service provided by Bell.

                Thanks

Would I have to go the settings config within the DSL modem?

                  Cheers!

If it's set to PPPoE then you get your IP dynamically (or pseudo-static).
I don't think there is much to do for you when you get the new IP.

If you're changing the ISP, then you will need to update the username/password fields.
