[SOLVED] Network connection unplugs and lost periodically

Hi. I have problem with network connection losing in pfsense 1.2.3-RELEASE. In my network works DHCP, DNS forworder with like ~100 workstations.
- Sometimes lost network connection on all clients and returns after like 5 or more seconds.
2)Have problem on workstations - sometimes shows network cable unplugged for few seconds and then connection returns again .
Can anyone suggest something or which log files to check? I personally think there is problem with DNS forworder? Should it be, and how to check it?

system log should report if it's nic go down
IMO It's most likely a hardware / cable problem. A driver issue could it also be iirc some nic's like dc() can act up.
just to be sure. Do have any servers like active directory running.

I checked system logs-> system. There is nothing strange except: dnsmasq[16013]: reading /var/dhcpd/var/db/dhcpd.leases

I think you relate this on workstations? I did configure on some network cards and set up "Full Duplex 1gbs", and right now uplugged problem is lost.

No, don`t have that kind servers.
I did realize, then problem with network allways have in mornings, when people start working. And I did test, I connect new workstation on lan and ethernet lost for all stations for few seconds.

Hi everyone, can anyone suggest me something? When internet lost/freeze for few seconds, then nothing happens with NIC, no dhcp renew or anything.

Have you looked in the RRD graphs for peaks in anything (CPU utilisation, bandwidth, process count etc) around the time your internet connection appears to go down. Perhaps your pfSense box stops forwarding temporarily due to temporary resource problems.

These workstations: What OS do they run? What exactly do they report? What the official explanation of the report? (Due to the number of workstations apparently involved I'd guess there is a switch involved, in which case it is hard to imagine why the workstations would report what looks like a cable problem. Do some users play with the cable when the internet connectivity apparently goes away?)

Problem solved looks like, there was problem with cisco Catalyst 2960G switch, which was got from black market :)
