      Hi All,

I am trying to get PFsense 2.0 embedded running on a firebox X750e it has 8x Marvell adapters, 4x on the mobo and 4 via a PCI-E 8x card

      Pf sense version/build: pfSense-2.0-BETA4-4g-20101210-2038-nanobsd

I am getting a few errors on boot and once it has booted none of the interfaces come up, anyone got any ideas?

Here is the console boot log:

Do you want to set up VLANs first?

If you are not going to use VLANs, or only for optional interfaces, you should
say no here and use the webConfigurator to configure VLANs later, if required.

Do you want to set up VLANs now [y|n]? n

*NOTE*  pfSense requires *AT LEAST* 1 assigned interfaces to function.
If you do not have *AT LEAST* 1 interfaces you CANNOT continue.

If you do not have at least 1 *REAL* network interface cards
or one interface with multiple VLANs then pfSense
              *WILL NOT* function correctly.

If you do not know the names of your interfaces, you may choose to use
auto-detection. In that case, disconnect all interfaces now before
hitting 'a' to initiate auto detection.

Enter the WAN interface name or 'a' for auto-detection: a

Connect the WAN interface now and make sure that the link is up.
      Then press ENTER to continue.

      No link-up detected.

Enter the WAN interface name or 'a' for auto-detection:</intel></intel></elite></intel></intel></intel></intel></intel></intel></intel></intel></pnp0c01></isa></parallel></parallel></standard></pnp0c01></at></serial></ata></ata></intel></isa></pci-isa></encrypt></marvell></mii></marvell></marvell></marvell></mii></marvell></marvell></marvell></mii></marvell></marvell></marvell></mii></marvell></marvell></pci></mptable></intel></intel></intel></intel></intel></intel></intel></intel></intel></intel></marvell></mii></marvell></marvell></pci></mptable></marvell></mii></marvell></marvell></pci></mptable></marvell></mii></marvell></marvell></pci></mptable></marvell></mii></marvell></marvell></pci></mptable></vga-compatible></pci></mptable></software></version></oem00000></fpu,vme,de,pse,tsc,msr,mce,cx8,apic,sep,mtrr,pge,mca,cmov,pat,dts,acpi,mmx,fxsr,sse,sse2,tm,pbe>

Just to update it does seem to work ok in 1.2.3 but the NIC lights dont seem to work as I would expect.

They remain off but flash when data is passed through the interface?!?

Just manually assign the NICs, some won't detect link up properly.

            Further to this:
I am using the same hardware as jp141. I'm currently playing with the box so there's a good chance it's my fault  ::) but..

Twice now I have had the box unexpectedly reboot. Both times it just after I logged into the web GUI. I captured this error on the console:

            I'm running the 13/12/2010 2G embedded snapshot.

I have no idea how to read this. :-[
