      Hi all,

i set up pfsense (2.0-BETA4 i386built on Fri Dec 17 02:16:21 EST 2010 ) on alix.2d3 with an 1 Mbit SDSL Connection and standard pppoe settings (trafficshaper off). Pppoe dial in seems ok, systemlogs are ok. Provider has MTU 1492 Byte.

Now i recognized very very high ping latency when downloading a file or any other high traffic is there.

      ping to heise.de from pfsense

      64 bytes from 193.99.144.80: icmp_seq=454 ttl=249 time=1192.973 ms
      64 bytes from 193.99.144.80: icmp_seq=455 ttl=249 time=1227.227 ms
      64 bytes from 193.99.144.80: icmp_seq=456 ttl=249 time=1240.609 ms
      64 bytes from 193.99.144.80: icmp_seq=457 ttl=249 time=1253.678 ms
      64 bytes from 193.99.144.80: icmp_seq=458 ttl=249 time=1261.171 ms
      64 bytes from 193.99.144.80: icmp_seq=459 ttl=249 time=1275.141 ms

If download stops latency is normal ~ 30 ms.

      64 bytes from 193.99.144.80: icmp_seq=2379 ttl=249 time=27.137 ms
      64 bytes from 193.99.144.80: icmp_seq=2380 ttl=249 time=27.257 ms
      64 bytes from 193.99.144.80: icmp_seq=2381 ttl=249 time=27.407 ms
      64 bytes from 193.99.144.80: icmp_seq=2382 ttl=249 time=27.215 ms

Are there any MTU issues which caused the problem?

Hope u can help me :(

      cya
