Pfsense 2.0 Requests
-
Can you please add the AR9220 drivers in?
-
pfSense uses FreeBSD as the underlying OS so the FreeBSD devs have to incorporate these drivers…
If FreeBSD supports it -> pfSense supports it -
I am aware of that but no one on the FreeBSD site responds to this request, so my next best thing is to ask here.
-
Is it a big problem to just buy a supported card? They are not that expensive…
-
Then you need to find a FreeBSD developer who's interested. You'll have to provide them with a card and probably some form of financial reward - driver development is not a trivial task.
You'll probably be faster and cheaper to follow jlepthien's advice and buy a supported card.

I was just a few moments away from ordering an AR9220, assuming it was supported.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a supported wifi n card? I would really like the 300mbit (i know..around 100mbit would be fine as well..) on minipci. Thanks! -
Please search the forum for the discussion on 802.11n. In short currently support isn't available in FreeBSD at this time.

Some support for 802.11n on ath was just added to FreeBSD 9-CURRENT last week, but some other messages seemed to indicate it may rely on too many other underlying changes in 9 to be MFC'd back to 8-STABLE ever. So even if an 802.11n card was supported there, it wouldn't (and couldn't) make it to 2.0.
Though some other Atheros 802.11n cards are supported, just at G speeds.

Alright. Thanks for the answers. :)
