      Hi,

I'd like to ensure, natd restarts as soon as pfSense receives a new WAN IP from my cable modem. I assume, statefull packet firewall keeps the old IP adress. I tried to solve this in the past by using the state timeout value, firewall rules, advanced settings. But I think the propper way is to restart the deamon. Any ideas? Open for discussion. TIA ;)

      Regards,
      R.

There is no "natd" in pfSense. pfSense uses pf, which handles nat internally, not via a NAT daemon.

When a new IP is received, the system updates with the new IP and reloads the firewall rules, nat, etc. The old IP is not retained.
