Not sure if this is a bug or as design. I noticed you can only add one URL when you select the URL TABLE under Aliases. Lets say you want to add a couple of URL List from http://www.countryipblocks.net/. You can only put one URL per Aliases.

It would be nice to make a Country_IP_Blocklist alias and have it combine lets say China, N.Korea, S.Korea, etc; into one big list instead of creating an alias for each list.

There is a package that does this but I would prefer to do this native to the box and not thru a package. Plus i've been trying to mess with all the options I can in 2.0 to help out with the testing ;D Every other day, I hear it from my other half; why do you have mess with shit.. It works, leave it alone…lol

      Thanks!

You can make an alias that includes other aliases (nesting), that should do what you want with the existing code.

          Jim,

I tried to create a new alias either using type Host or Network and get this error:

The following input errors were detected:

          * The alias(es): Country_China Country_Korea_DPR Country_Korea_Republic cannot be nested because they are not of the same type.

I checked the 3 files that were downloaded to /var/db/aliastables and all 3 are in the same format… Any ideas?

          thanks again!

Ah, I forgot about that check. It's meant to prevent someone from nesting mismatched types (like a port alias in a network alias).

Not sure if that would work then.

Good check to have! Maybe a feature for 2.1? Either the nesting or allow more then 1 url table within an alias?

Might be a good idea for then. It's probably too late to hack in a fix for that for 2.0.
