RRD Quality Graphs show gateways that don't exist anymore
-
Currently running: 2.0-BETA5 (i386)
built on Tue Jan 25 21:28:49 EST 2011Added a new gateway as part of a new static route a few days back which I then removed minutes later due to a change of plan. I have just been browsing through the logs and the Quality RRD graph still shows the gateway that I removed in the drop down box yet looking in System/Routing tab, it only shows the default WAN gateway as it should.
Can anyone try this on their box and confirm if this is a bug or not? Or indeed, if you are currently slapping your faces and cursing my stupidity, point me to what I have missed here. :PMany thanks,
Cal.

I haven't taken the time to track it down specifically as it's a minor issue to me, but yes I have seen similar behavior where something is still graphed that is no longer actively in use (an interface or a gateway). Sorry I don't have more details but I have seen it; hasn't been worth my time to document/track down yet since it's "just" reporting info and the current stuff also works :-)

We don't delete RRD files when things get removed - interfaces, gateways, etc. with the assumption that in many cases people still want that data, or they're going to re-enable that item later and will want the data to pick back up, etc. If you want, you can delete them from /var/db/rrd/, I don't think we'll ever automatically delete RRDs.

Wouldn't it be a relatively simple process to add a tick box when removing a gateway/interface to give the option to remove all instances from the RRD graphs?
Maybe I'll feature request it.
