      Hello,

I'm seeing if it is possible to change what the default password is, instead of pfsense. Is there a way to change this?

      Thanks.

I know how to change the password to something I want. I'm in the process of rebranding pfSense, and am wondering if there's any way to change what the default password is, so that when you reset the password, instead of going back to pfsense, it goes back to something I want.

            Factory default file is /conf.default/config.xml

BTW: please explain what you mean by rebrand pfSense… You are removing the graphics and such, correct?

Yes, we're swapping out graphics and other items for a product we're selling. Thank you very much for you help.

You want to look into /etc/rc.initial.password.  Should be pretty self explanatory (of note, in the HEAD branch it sets the initial password to the product name set in global.inc).

Is this functionality going to be incorporated into the next release of pfSense?

No.  -HEAD is 2.0 with no release date set.
