    Snort won't start

      Hi,

      I am getting this error when I tried to start the snort in pfsense "snort[6619]: FATAL ERROR: /usr/local/etc/snort/snort_1_em1/rules/snort_netbios.rules(72) GID 1 SID 2511 in rule duplicates previous rule, with different protocol."

      However when I tried to unselect the rules in category "snort_netbios.rules" the snort starts. Is there a way to remove the duplicate.

        i also have this issue with pfsense 2.0 RC1.
        Worked first, but after a reboot i get the same error.

          Seems each updated snapshot wipes snort rules and config. Yes i have save config if removed set.

          Updating snort rules generally fixes the issue your speaking of in my case.
