Is there any thing better than Bandwidthd to monitor the lan traffic on a monthly basis?
I need to know witch lan users use exactly how much out through the WAN .

I have it and vnstat installed and bandwidthd seems to always claim close to double the total usage that vnstat shows as the daily or monthly usage.

      Thanks
      Allan

I tried the rrd summary , but it does not list usage by lan IP.
Ntop seems to but I cant figure out how to make it track 2 months at a time and how to keep it from counting traffic from lan too opt1 traffic.

bandwidthd may be closer to what you want.

I ran Banwidthd for 5 months and the total always equaled close to double what the rrd monthly total was , Is there a cheat sheet orΒ  a list of filters one can run with it?

I've never known bandwidthd to under or overcount, but it is easy to get in/out byte counts confused when looking at graphs from different perspectives.

What are the recommended settings for bandwidthd? cutoff and skip intervals?
                    I have filter
"ip and not ((src net 192.168) and (dst net 192.168))"
I don't want local and or traffic through the opt1 interface counted. Is it correct
                    Should promiscuous mode be checked?
