Bandwidth monitoring

Is there any thing better than Bandwidthd to monitor the lan traffic on a monthly basis?
I need to know witch lan users use exactly how much out through the WAN .I have it and vnstat installed and bandwidthd seems to always claim close to double the total usage that vnstat shows as the daily or monthly usage.
Thanks

install the RRD Summary package

I tried the rrd summary , but it does not list usage by lan IP.
Ntop seems to but I cant figure out how to make it track 2 months at a time and how to keep it from counting traffic from lan too opt1 traffic. -
bandwidthd may be closer to what you want.

I ran Banwidthd for 5 months and the total always equaled close to double what the rrd monthly total was , Is there a cheat sheet orΒ a list of filters one can run with it?

I've never known bandwidthd to under or overcount, but it is easy to get in/out byte counts confused when looking at graphs from different perspectives.

What are the recommended settings for bandwidthd? cutoff and skip intervals?
I have filter
"ip and not ((src net 192.168) and (dst net 192.168))"
I don't want local and or traffic through the opt1 interface counted. Is it correct
Should promiscuous mode be checked?
