Leaving the Dashboard page open causes my browser to leak several megabytes per hour.

I get the same leak with Firefox, and Google Chrome.

      pfsense 2.0 snapshot BETA5 (i386) built on Fri Feb 18 06:31:46 EST 2011

I have the following Dashboard widgets enabled :

      Services Status
        System Information
        Installed Packages
        Interface Statistics
        Gateways
        Captive Portal Status
        Firewall Logs
        Snort Alerts
        Interfaces
Traffic Graphs ( at 1s update rate )

Removing Traffic Graphs looks like it reduces leak rate significantly, though I'm not convinced it prevents it altogether. More testing required.

Those are SVG graphs, so the real problem may be in the browser's SVG function, not just in the page itself.

Someone who knows more about the inner workings of the SVG graphs may have a more precise answer though.

IIRC, Firefox and Chome support SVG internally and not via an Adobe plugin.

Every browser except IE (until v9) has native built in SVG support, likely finding some general issue with SVG leaking memory in those browsers.

I'm seeing the same behavior with my pfsense 1.2.3 install.

At this point I'm inclined to agree that it's a browser issue, but curious that both Firefox and Chrome are similarly afflicted.
