      Iam using: 1.2.3-RELEASE
      Clean installation.

      I have a free account on www.dyndns.org

      But the pfsense-DYNDNS service never logged into the www.dyndns.org. I recived an email telling me that I will loose my account on dyndns.org if I don't report in.

      What can be the problem here. My IP address change very rare, (a few times a year)

      Its like the DYNDNS service is not running on pfsense.

      (I have the correct hostname & account creds for my account)

        What is the IP address of your WAN interface?

        Are you using the Fit123 package?

          It's a public ip-address.

          I have not installed Fit123 package.

            I no longer run pfSense 1.2.3. When I did I used Fit123 and a patch to register address changes with OpenDNS.
            The standard software monitored the IP address of the WAN interface which wasn't any help to me because my pfSense box was downstream of an ADSL modem/router.

            On pfSense 2.0 I have recently changed to using a basic ADSL modem so my pfSense WAN interface has a public IP address. It seems to be checked on startup and once a day at 1AM (if I recall correctly) which is probably not frequently enough for my purposes. A chck seems to also be performed on saving the dynamic dns settings.

            Have you checked the system log for entries relating to dynamic DNS support?

              This. You should see a once a month update in your system logs even if the IP doesn't change, and it'll have details.

                I found the problem.

                –---> ME <-----

                In the settings in pfsense you asked for a username and I was using my email address as username and that dosen't work for updatign the IP but it works for login into my dyndns account.
