PPPoe failing after upgrade from 1.2.3 RC3
-
Attempting to restore the configuration from my old embedded setup onto a hardware equivalent 2.0 RC1.
The wan link never starts up – instead I get this:

Advice would be appreciated!

Seems you have to reassing the interface since the pppoe connection has lost the interface.
Or go to interfaces->assing->ppp-> edit your pppoe by choosing the needed interface. -
Thanks,
That worked perfectly.
Is this of any concern as a bug to address? I did find that my pppoe login and password failed to restore into the 2.0rc1 version, so I had typed them in again. The association with the interface was new to me, so I'm not sure why that didn't restore properly.

Can you post the wan config section here from the 1.2.3 config?
-
Same here. Had to re-enter pppoe username and password.
Also manually entered the MTU, but not sure it was really necessary. -
Here is the section I think you are looking for: in the interfaces:
<wan><if>sis1</if>
<mtu><blockpriv><media><mediaopt><spoofmac><use_rrd_gateway><ipaddr>pppoe</ipaddr></use_rrd_gateway></spoofmac></mediaopt></media></blockpriv></mtu></wan>There is another section for the pppoe: (I changed the username and password….)
<pppoe><username>Changed@Whoknows.com</username>
<password>Password1234</password></pppoe>
