Open-VM-Tools fails to install due to perl package not found



  • I tried to install Open-VM Tools on my 64-bit pfSense 2.0 RC-1 box which is generally working. The installer was unable to find a required package so it failed and quit. I would be grateful if the maintainer could fix the, probably small, issue. Thanks. See installation transcript below:

  • This is also a problem on 32-bit, I'm getting a similar issue when I went to upgrade from an older version of the package to the current:

    That was using the Reinstall button, but attempting to install directly again still fails.



  • I am dealing with this issue now also..

    Besides missing esxi management niceties, what in pfsense is 'broken' when missing vm tools?
