    2.0-RC1 (amd64)
built on Tue Mar 15 23:34:27 EDT 2011

My log has this entry approximately every minute:

    Mar 23 07:36:24 dhclient: FAIL
    Mar 23 07:35:22 dhclient: FAIL
    Mar 23 07:34:20 dhclient: FAIL
    Mar 23 07:33:18 dhclient: FAIL
    Mar 23 07:32:16 dhclient: FAIL
    Mar 23 07:31:14 dhclient: FAIL
    Mar 23 07:30:12 dhclient: FAIL
    Mar 23 07:29:10 dhclient: FAIL
    Mar 23 07:28:08 dhclient: FAIL
    Mar 23 07:27:06 dhclient: FAIL

But none of my interfaces are configured by dhcp. One was briefly, but there was no service there, and I set the interface to static. I believe this is when the messages started appearing in the logs.

I've seen this happen before, but it's rare. I can't reproduce it in current code though. If you had a DHCP WAN and then changed it to static, sometimes dhclient was left running. If you kill dhclient (or reboot) the log messages go away.
