I'm trying to setup my pppoe server on the opt1 interface of pfsense 2.0 rc1.

      My 3 interfaces are

      Lan :172.16.0.1/16
      Wan:10.0.0.2/24
      opt1:192.168.2.1/24

No matter what I do I always get this error

The specified server address lies in the remote subnet

      Any ideas?

That error comes when the "server address" you put on the PPPoE server config page lies inside of the address pool for PPPoE clients to use.

The "server address" for PPPoE (and PPTP, etc) doesn't need to be in the same subnet, it's just the IP given to clients as their "gateway", though it isn't really used as such.

          Thanks
I changed the server address to 192.168.20.1 and it worked.
