This would be very useful feature, i currently have "2 Firewall" because PFsense don't have authpf support.

I Found some docs/info on using it on freebsd:
      http://pean.org/authpf_on_FreeBSD.html
      http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=authpf&apropos=0&sektion=8&manpath=FreeBSD+6.2-RELEASE&format=html

(I am currently writing a GUI wrapper for plink to be used as a windows authpf client for the users that our authpf box has, as many of them seem to have difficulties using putty and remembering to not close the shell window.)

For the authentication client on windows boxes, you can use the .NET granados library wich is an open source SSH library coded in C# over 1.1 framework (I have been able to compile it over a 2.0 framework).

With some cosmetics and few hours you will have a wonderful client runing in the systray and starting right after the login process. You are free to choose your own method to handle authentication against the ssh Host since you will have no problem retreiving the logged on username…

I've already written some windows ssh client tools that perform administrative tasks by changing the login shell to a specific script.
For the passwords.... you have a lot of solutions...I use Rinjdael encryption to keep it secure....you can also use certificates with the granados lib....

          ;-)

              Just look at http://granados.sourceforge.net/

You have to learn C# or VB.NET before of course but if you alreay know some C/C++/java coding it won't be difficult to master C# ;-)

You can do a lot of thing with that free editor (Visual Studio clone):
