Creating resolv.conf every minute

  • Sorry but the other thread is closed, so I had make a new one.

I compared the logs from the pfsense and my VDSL modem because resolv.conf is created every minute. And I think the problem is somewhere in the pfsense software. The lease itself is 8 hours, but the pfsense request every minute a new one.

  • Back on 1.2.3-RELEASE is everyting ok. No DHCP requests every minute. So it is pfsense 2.0….

  • Rebel Alliance Developer Netgate

Out of curiosity, are you spoofing a mac address on that WAN?

  • No. What I had to do is to set up IP Passthrough on my VDSL router (Motorola Netopia 7357-84, http://www.netopia.com/swisscom/firmwareA.html). If I bridge the VDSL router, the internet stopped working every about 2 weeks. Then I had to reboot the pfsense. With this IP Passtrough I have a stable internet within sevaral month (on pfsense V1.2.3)…
