      I'm having an issue where only 1Gb of the installed 2Gb is being used by pfSense..

      pfSense Version: 2.0-RC1 (i386)
      built on Thu Mar 31 18:57:33 EDT 2011

      real memory  = 2147483648 (2048 MB)
      avail memory = 1011212288 (964 MB)

      vm.kmem_size_min: 0

      hw.physmem: 1035436032

      Can anyone help me here??

        Perhaps you have a motherboard with integrated graphics and the BIOS allocates about 1GB to the integrated graphics adapter.

        Probably 8MB would be more than ample for use with pfSense.

          I will have to check that, but it is a 19" rack mount appliance box with a low end video onboard (vga) card.

          I just physically checked the box and to my embarrassment the box only has 1Gb of RAM in it .. must have been high when I built it hehehe :)
