    I tried again the pfSense-2.0-RC1-2g-i386-20110404-0638-nanobsd, because of the DHCP issue (reqest every minute) I configured the VDSL modem in bridged mode. So WAN was down. I needed to release the WAN in the pfsense. But after the login I just was stock on the start site. This (I think this was the problem) because the pfsense did not have WAN and so the update state could not be requested, so the hole pfsense was just locked.

      Is it possible you are using a dns name to access your box?  I did this once.

      Triggering snowflakes one by one..

        Usually yes, but I did the access via IP address. I could log in, but then it stock on the start screen.
