      Hi all,

have searched the forum but can't seem to find the answer to this one.

I need a very simple bandwidth cap across all services. No QoS needed at all.

I have tried going through the wizard without selecting anything and it just exits, I guess because it needs some rules to do a first run.

Any ideas how I would go about setting this up? I need a 4Mb/sec bandwidth cap as my ISP charges if you burst over this.

      Cheers.

If you just the WAN interface speed to 4Mbit/s it shouldn't matter what you choose for the rest of the options, it should limit you to the speed of that queue.

On 2.0 this might be easier to do with a limiter (pipe).

Sorry, should've mentioned am on 1.2.3.

Are you saying set both upload and download to WAN and not add any other settings?

          Cheers.

Correct, though I think (haven't tried it lately) you have to use at least one option on one of the pages or it won't really activate. You could always enable something like the penalty box and enter and IP that isn't (and won't be) in use.

yes  he's right, you need to pick one other thing in the wizard,  like prioritize your outbound DNS.  that will be enough for the wizard to complete and is not a bad idea to have set anyway.
