      Hello,

When I played with the 2.0 RC1 last night, I noticed that the NRPE package for nagios wasn't listed anymore.  Will there be an NRPE package, or some sort of nagios test over ssh soon?

      Thanks for your help…

I don't recall who the maintainer of that package was offhand. Someone just needs to pick it up and try to build it for 2.0 and see if it works.

          Hello,

Thanks for your reply.  I haven't looked too deeply, but does the pfsense repository include things such as pointers to packages and ports?

All of the files in the packages repository can be grabbed from here, if you're curious about development:

              Look here: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,35228.0.html

The easiest way is to build your own package. The default package from nrpe has no ssl enabled!!!

                Hi all,

if anybody would be willing to fix the nrpe package (enable SSL and make the package configurable via GUI) I could offer a bounty.

                Kind regards
                Harald

I added the package into the repo, but the binaries aren't there yet, they're building on the current run now, so give it several hours to get through the whole package build run and it may work. It may be 6-8+ hours before it's done, so you might just want to try it tomorrow.

NRPE2 should now be installable and functional for SSL-enabled communication on pfSense 2.0.
