I keep getting the same error message when the system tries to boot for the first time.

"No boot device available, press Enter to continue."

I followed the tutorials to set everything up. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

      Software

      pfSense1.0.1

      Hardware

      WRAP.1E
      Sandisk 1gig CF

How did you write the image? Did you use phydsikwrite for this? Haven't tested with 1 GB flashs yet but try to change your wrap bios from chs to lba or vice versa (depending on what is set atm).

          yeah, i used phydiskwrite, "physdiskwrite -u image.blah

ive actually used that and dd under nix, a guy i know running pfsense is running a 1gig card i think. i cant say for sure at this time though. i tried both CHS and LBA, neither changed anything. still did the same thing, i posted what i have bellow, maybe that will help in troubleshooting

Maybe there is a problem with the cf-card that you are using? Can you try another card?

i just bought the card new, is there any diagnostics that you know of i can run on the card to determine if it is bad?

Might just be some kind of incompatibility with the wrap and the card itself is fine.

i pulled a 256meg cf out of my zaurus and threw the image on it. seems to be working fine.

so heres my temporary solution. either (a) the wrap doesn't support a 1gig card or (b) i pulled out the CF card from the reader before i told the software (little gray card with green arrow lower right on win box) to release it and perhaps some files were not completely written to it. i had a similar problem with my zuarus.

ill post again when i find out for sure.
