I am having a hard time trying to set up a VPN connection with one side of the tunnel being a PPPOE connection that gives a dynamic IP. Here is what I got on teh side that I am having trouble setting up

      PPPOE DSL
      dynamic IP assigned via PPPOE
I have 5 static IP's available to me in a different subnet that I am using fine with VIP's

How do I assign one of my statics to the VPN tunnel instead of it using the dynamic PPPOE one?

      Thanks
      Jonathan

If the static IP is setup as an IP Alias, it would work for that, but you can't use Proxy ARP or "other" type VIPs for taking VPN connections

Thanks for the reply Jim. I am however still a little confused and cant figure out how to set my ststic IP as my VPN endpoint instead of my dynamic wan IP. Do you happen to address this in your book? I have the book here with me. Thanks

It really depends on on how your ISP delivers those IPs to you.
