Updating 1.2.3 to 2.0RC1 over SSH
-
Hello!
I tryed to update my pfsense Firewall (MSI AMD PC) from 1.2.3 to 2.0RC1 over SSH.
Before i deinstalled any packages. Then i rebooted the firewall.Over the ssh i get into the update menu and told the firewall to get the file via internet.
Everything works fine. But know the update process (…....................) takes over 2 hours. Is this normal?
The internet connection still works but if i try to got to the GUI of the Firewall over the IE9 the follwling message apears:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '&', expecting T_VARIABLE or '$' in /etc/inc/interfaces.inc on line 1023
Thanks for your help.

Wait end of update.
I has also a long update yesterday. -
It´s now 5 hours. Still updating.
??? ???

When I updated from 1.2.3 to 2.0 RC-1 it only took about 5-10 minutes. It shouldn't take long at all.
Heck, a fresh install only takes a few minutes. It sounds like something isn't right.

After 28 hours i decidet to reboot the machine. (the message was still "Firmeware update procedet or so")
After the reboot the setup comes. Everything works fine exept the loadbalancing. (i have 2 WAN an use LB).
The lb menu is empty so it was not ported form the old system.i think this could be the problem why the update wasnot able to finish the process?!

Since you uninstalled all packages and it did not work verty well, I suggest restarting fresh… I did it yesterday because everything was screwed up badly, pf wouldnt event load the webconfigurator.
Download the ISO file, burn and reinstall. Then upgrade via either webconfigurator -> firmware upgrade, or SSH. Just to give you an idea how easy this can be, I reinstalled 1.2.3, upgraded to 2.0RC1 then upgraded to 2.0RC2 and reinstalled all packages (squid, squidguard, snort, country block, ip block, HAVP A/V, Cron, ntop) from my iphone via Wifi! :)
