Has anyone installed bandwidthd on pfsense 2.0-RC1? I am running a snapshot from May 18, 2011.
If you have installed bandwidthd, did you have any problems installing or getting it to run? Or have you installed another package other than bandwidthd that works without any issues?
I just don't want to get in to any trouble trying to install it as I can't afford to be down.
Thanks!

I have installed it and run it and had no problems, but as always YMMV.

That sounds encouraging.
What was the last snapshot you installed it on? I only ask because I've read a few other posts that they apparently had a few problems wtih on 2.0.
Thanks!

I change too often to really say with any certainty. Wasn't too long ago, a week or two. The snapshot itself wouldn't make any difference, the version of the package might.
Depending on the age of the complaints you read, they are probably not valid anymore.

Thanks for getting back to me.
The complaints were from about 2-3 weeks ago. I tried to find the posts, but couldn't. :-)
I plan on upgrading to the latest snapshot next week. So I guess I'd be okay. I'm only going to run this and Country Block, so there shouldn't be much to interfere.
Thank you for your time. I do appreciate it.

I can't speak much about country block, having not used it, but there are several threads on the forum with complaints about that as well. I'd consider that far, far more dangerous to load than bandwidthd.

Hey Jimp,
Yeah, I saw those. Apparently you have to set up the config part for County Block each time you upgrade in 2.0. I have corresponded with the guy who wrote it on this forum and I don't think there will be any issues. At least I hope not!
I'm glad to hear you think that Country Block would be worse because I'm fairly certain that it will work fine.
I can get around Linux and FreeBSD to a degree, but I'm not anywhere close to you guys. So I don't want to dig a hole I can't get out of!
Thank you!
