I tried to follow the wiki post on this ( located at: http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Full_Install_on_WRAP_Embedded_Router ) and opted to try the Virtual Box install.
Ran into a few problems and did a little reading to get it all right.  Installed on a PCEngines Alix 2D3.

      VBox / Alix full install
      pfSense version: pfSense-2.0-RC1-i386-20110226-1530.iso.gz
      VirtualBox version: virtualbox-4.0_4.0.8-71778~Ubuntu~lucid_i386.deb

      1. Add current user to vboxusers / disk groups or use sudo
      2. sudo VBoxManage internalcommands createrawvmdk -filename cfDisk.vmdk -rawdisk /dev/sdc //lets you write directly to the cfdisk
      3. Create a new virtualbox
      4. Use iso as primary master, use disk as primary slave
      5. Install pfSense on slave (cfdisk), using embedded kernel
      6. Put cfdisk in alix and boot alix with serial connected
      7. screen /dev/ttyS0 9600
      8. Boot will fail, put in type ufs:/dev/ad0s1a at prompt
      9. Choose shell, edit /etc/fstab with vi, replace /dev/ad1* with /dev/ad0*

This probably isn't of any use to most, but the keywords should help people while searching the forums or on google.
