Adding second interface to lagg crashes 2.0 rc2
-
Just trying to setup LACP with 2x bge interfaces under LAGG, with one interface we are fine.
with 2 it goes to some sort of debugger and everything stops working.
a power cycle is required to get everything working again, however LAGG still only has 1 interface in the group.I'd supply some logs and dumps and stuff but I have no idea what I am doing with BSD!
-
Meh, can't delete the LAGG interface without a fatal trap either..
woe is me… -
Got it!
Unplug the lan cables from the lag assigned interfaces and I am able to delete the LAGG interface without a fatal trap.
much easier than running to the comms room every time it crashes! -
bah given up!
lacp or dot1q don't want to work in anyway, shape, or form!
even tried rebooting pfsense.
Down to using access ports for everything…anyway, I am out of here, but the normal cisco config is:
for LACP
channel-protocol lacp
channel-group 5 mode activeor
channel-protocol lacp
channel-group 5 mode passivefor trunking vlans its:
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 999
switchport mode trunkmaybe even add
switchport nonegotiatesee I get:
c4506(config-if-range)#do sh etherc 45 de

pictures and typing bt at the promt you get on crash would be helpful.
-
Funny thing is, once I removed that particular LAGG interface by unplugging the link, removing the nic in the gui everything has come good now, no crashing and I can add/remove lagg interfaces and nics to my hearts content! not that it works but hey :)
Um, thanks for the tip, type bt at the fatal crash prompt.

Uh, why open my mouth to prove I am am an idiot..
well, I had the cables in the wrong holes didn't I!
the giveaway was Port state = Down Not-in-Bndl
Ho Hum, sorry guys, interesting that it crashed like that though.
amazing what you can achieve after some sleep :P
Again, apologies..
:-X
PS 2 bge interfaces in LACP LAGG trunking vlans works well on 2.0 rc2…
