Help with switch for VLANs
-
Hello all,
I am trying to set up VLANs on pfsense and looking for a 10+ port 10/100/1000 managed switch that supports port mirroring.
Any recommendations?

HP Procurve 1800-24G and or the Procurve 1810-24G are very nice switches for not a lot of money.
Can never go wrong with HP Procurve. I run and 1800-24G at home and a HP Procurve 2650-PWR at work and it's great! -
I don't have any experience with the 1800 Procurve switches. I do have a 2424m at home and two 3400cl and a 5308xl at work. They do the job well and don't cost a load of money. My only gripe is getting sflow data out of them is a pain and HP's deal is well you can pay another vendor to automate that. So I'll be getting all of my flow data out of pfsense instead for my home network. BTW the 2424m is a 10/100 managed switch that is old. It does do trunking and spanning tree. I'm also happy that it will do FEC trunks. well in theory I've not put that to test yet. I'll be doing that sometime this weekend.

Thanks for replies.
Anyone worked with and/or recommend a Dell 28xx series or a RouterBoard (routerboard.com)?

cisco shop here, however, we are looking at H3C more and more due to cisco's lack of commitment and technical expertise on anything of late.

H3C is also a HP product.
