Alix upgrade 1.2.3->2.0RC1 Internal Server Error 500
-
Hello all,
I just recently started migrating all my company routers to 2.0RC1, as this is now the recommended version for new installs.Upgrading the router at the main office (x86 hardware) went without issue.
Upgrading at Office 2 (Alix 2GB) went without issue.
Upgrading at Office 3 (Alix 2GB) site did not come back online automatically after update. I am about to drive down and physically investigate the issue… a pain.
Upgrading at Office 4 (Alix 2GB) upgrade failed once, with a request timed out. I then initiated the upgrade again, and it appeared to go smoothly, but now any attempt to access the config page results in Error 500 -- Internal Server Error. Also SSH access is down... so I'm heading to investigate this office as well.If anyone else has had these issues with upgrading embedded Alix hardware, let me know! I will post my results here after visiting each office to aid anyone else that may run into these issues with upgrades.
Other info:
All 3 offices are PPPoE DSL connections.
At Office 4, the WAN is still active, and IPSec VPN is still working, but I have no idea if it's running 2.0RC1 or 1.2.3, as I can't access config page. -
Just visited Office 3, discovered the following:
PPPoE username and password WERE NOT kept after update.
Anyone who performs the 1.2.3->2.0RC1 update should take note that your PPPoE credentials may be lost during the process! Hopefully the devs can correct this before 2.0 Release. Not sure if this is specific to my hardware (Alix) or my image (2g). -
The PPPoE username/password bug was fixed after RC1. Current snapshots wouldn't have that problem.
