Package Manager problem in 2.0RC2 (i386)
-
When I visit http://10.0.0.254/pkg_mgr.php I get an error message that says:
Unable to communicate with www.pfsense.com. Please verify DNS and interface configuration, and that pfSense has functional Internet connectivity.
When I check the system logs (clog -f /var/log/system.log), I see the following messages:
May 29 13:34:25 router php: /pkg_mgr_installed.php: XMLRPC request failed with error 5: Didn't receive 200 OK from remote server. (HTTP/1.0 302 Found) May 29 13:34:27 router php: /pkg_mgr.php: XMLRPC request failed with error 5: Didn't receive 200 OK from remote server. (HTTP/1.0 302 Found)
Any thoughts?

Are you behind some kind of proxy or portal that would be redirecting a web request?
-
Nope.

Then I suggest you do a packet capture of the outgoing web request when it tries to fetch the package list, and look at what it is really doing and seeing.
Shouldn't be anything private in it. Go to Diagnostics > Packet Capture, capture on WAN, filter on port 80, make sure nobody on the LAN is using the web at the time, it should be easy to spot. Load it up in wireshark and look at what it's doing. If you want to let others look at it, upload the capture to cloudshark.org
